We are more than a platform—we are a movement built on inclusivity, support, and the transformative power of storytelling. Our community is a safe space where every voice is valued, and each story is honored, regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Through interactive open mics, creative workshops, and collaborative projects, we embrace vulnerability as a source of strength and connection. Whether shared through spoken word, song, art, or performance, we celebrate all forms of storytelling that give voice to personal truths.
Here, we create an environment that encourages personal growth, reflection, and a deeper sense of unity—where storytelling becomes a journey of healing, empowerment, and collective transformation, allowing each story to be expressed in the form that speaks most powerfully to the storyteller.
About Us:
Meet the Founder
Hey there! I’m Sunny, the heart behind the Vulnerable Narratives Project. I am a Universal Designer, I blend my passion for Architecture, Industrial Design, and Woodworking. But beyond titles, I’m a whistleblower for authenticity, a fervent lover of life, and an empath at heart. I see myself as a guardian of positive energy. I am a Phoenix, an Alchemist, and The Owl is my Protector.
This platform is my humble sanctuary, where I welcome incredible empowering individuals to join forces and share life’s wisdom, offer genuine support, and inspire one another. Let’s journey together, celebrate our strength, and remind each other that we’re never alone.
My passion for storytelling began when I was a teenager. I didn’t realize it at the time, but writing became my way of building resilience, a way to make sense of the struggles I faced while navigating my world. As I grew older, I found myself offering advice to people I cared about, and, to my surprise, I often heard how much it helped them, how it solved a challenge, sparked courage, or lit the way toward a dream.
I’ve always lived my life fueled by passion and driven by dreams. Whatever I’ve set my heart on, I’ve fought hard to achieve, but getting there hasn’t been without its share of challenges.
Throughout the years, therapists and professors encouraged me to write my book, affirming what I now deeply understand: that storytelling isn’t just an act of expression, it’s an act of survival and growth.
What began as a personal goal soon evolved into something much bigger. I realized I needed, and deeply wanted a real, authentic community.
Today, I’m immensely grateful I made that dream a reality. One of the most surprising and wonderful moments was meeting my dear friend Liz. I had wandered into her store one day, (Bear Minimum in Boonton, NJ), just curious about the town and possibly asking about leasing spaces. When she asked if I was opening a business, I told her about my academy and the platform I was building. With excitement, she said, "Bring it here right now!" I was taken aback and said, "Here? But your store is full!" She grinned and replied, "No! I have a bear den in the basement!"
She then showed me her cozy space, and from that moment on, our friendship blossomed. We created community! We have made new friends and it just feels like we are now like a family
I’m also incredibly grateful to my new friend Jen, a compassionate therapist and counselor, who saw the value in my work and invited me to bring my writing workshop to her non-profit organization, The Support Network in Madison. Her belief in what I offer has been such a powerful encouragement, and it’s another reminder of how community support and shared purpose can lead to transformative experiences. Jen’s invitation opened up new opportunities to connect with others and expand the reach of this project, and for that, I’m deeply thankful.
And now, I just want to share an invitation with you: to honor your voice, your journey, and the wisdom you carry too. Because here’s what I’ve learned through my own sharing:
The more we write and share our stories, the more we heal the leftover fragments that may be blocking us. Through this practice, we learn more about ourselves, and our perspective begins to shift over time. We start to see our patterns more clearly, recognize the strengths we’ve developed through personal growth, and witness our own evolution.
Each time we return to our story, we discover a deeper sense of self-validation, a gift only we can give ourselves. No one else holds that privilege. We must own and claim the wisdom we’ve earned along the way.
